General

We depend on the City of Laurinburg and Scotland County for animal control, and do not provide those services ourselves.

If you have found a dog, have a stray in your neighborhood or would like to report a neglected or dog, please contact the animal control agency for your location.

Until further notice we are not accepting new volunteers for physical shelter activities.  However, we do always need new fosters and volunteers to assist with transports so if you are able and interested in either of those options, please do contact the shelter.  Other ways to help the homeless animals of Scotland County are holding donation drives or making homemade toys for the cats and dogs at home and donating those to the shelter.

One of our most important goals is to provide our animals with happy, permanent homes through local adoptions or rescues. Each prospective owner is required to complete an adoption application before the adoption process can be completed.  Our adoption fee is $125 for dogs and $75 for cats.  The adoption fee includes the following:  spay/neuter, introductory immunizations, including rabies, deworming, flea/heartworm preventative and microchipping.
